Harmony H47 Mercury Stratotone electric guitar repair

This is a Harmony H47 hollowbody electric guitar. This is the Mercury model of the Stratotone line. It's probably early 60's vintage. It doesn't look hollow but it is completely hollow and light as a feather. There's nothing wrong with it except some inlays are coming up.

That's a DeArmond "goldfoil" pickup. They're supposed to be really, really good. This one just sounds like a pickup to me. But they're cool looking.

The inlays are peeling up bad on this guitar. The normal thing to do is to glue them back down and then plane the fretboard. But the frets aren't that bad on this guitar so I attempted to spot-sand the inlays after I glued them.

The less stray glue I get on this neck the less I have sand, scrape, and pry off of it. So it pays to mask the glue lines out.

Once the glue is in I clamp it for a couple hours. I'm using cyanoacrylite adhesive (thin or medium will work) with no activator.
